Ancients are trained from the time they are born or converted to be the best kinds of people. Most Ancients are actually not physical warriors, but the kind that wander among the humans and live a life that would be considered an example. Of course, the humans are entitled to their own religions and faith. The world is still a free one. The desire of every religion to convert new members, however, lives in the Ancients just as much as it lives in any other. The warriors fight only the forces that attempt to hurt one of the members. That is my job, to defend the members of my religion, physically and mentally.
The leader of this world is a human, not an Ancient. We refuse to let the world believe that we are taking control, we do not believe we are better than the humans, we simply believe we have more facts accumulated over time and history than the humans can sustain. With such short lifespans, they often change opinions over merely a few generations. The Ancient religion stays the same over the years, somewhat adapting to the changing world such as the elimination of plural marriage, given that it was no longer needed to repopulate the planet.
